Not Just Dim Sum is just not consistent...
I've been to this place for lunch a couple times in the past 2 weeks and I've ordered the same vegetarian dish. The first time, it was wonderful, flavourful, great taste, not too greasy. I was impressed. Then I went back today and same dish was just awful. Made me queasy even. Swimming in oil.
I generally find Chinese to be pretty consistent so this threw me. Different cook perhaps?
Not a lot of choice at Yonge and Finch but this one is off my list for now...

It should have been off your list when they failed dinesafe a few years back. It used to be just mediocre (5+ years ago). Now it's awful. Had the worst fried XO radish dish there ever. They took steamed radish left over from dim sum, cut it up and toss with some bland curry sauce? No thanks.

re: Ediblethoughts
Less busy, Sunday afternoon around 2pm. Busy or not, butchering a dish with finished ingredients leftover from a previous service and do not fit in the end product is bad. It's kind of like going somewhere and ordering a roast turkey sandwich and being served some boiled turkey meat that was used as a base for a soup.
I mean, they were pretty borderline before that, but this sin pushed them into the "never again" category.

re: Ediblethoughts
There's a congee time up the street, which although is not great, is heads and shoulders above this place. And there's also Legend north of steeles. I'd even order from some of the random delivery places before then.
I get menus from Dragon Pearl in the mail.. could a buffet place serve better food than NJD? One day, I'll find out.
