Dessert Pairing for Chinese Food

Hi all,

My family is insisting on ordering Chinese food for Christmas Eve dinner. I'll be making the dessert. I'm not sure what to make. I'm not a big fan of Chinese desserts in general, and my family has fairly traditional tastes. I would probably want something fairly light. Suggestions appreciated!

Make this, but increase the cranberries (as commenters suggest) and add some orange/clementine zest and grated fresh ginger to the cake batter. It's great.

I think this one is especially nice:

My Dad was a child (of German?Irish immigrants) in New York in the 1930s, and always told us how special oranges were @ Christmastime. I take them for granted, whenever, wherever!

Well, what ethnicity is your family? This will help us understand what you mean by "fairly traditional tastes".

If your family is American (whatever that may mean), how about a Lemon Chiffon Cake? Or maybe a Pavlova if you really want to stay on the lighter side?

Thanks! Those are great suggestions. We have a English/Irish background.
