Decent food in Auburn?

EarlyBird Dec 6, 2012 11:32 AM

All,

I'll be up visiting in-laws in Auburn this week, and wonder if there are any decent, reasonably priced places I could take them to for a good meal. It could be breakfast, lunch or dinner. It could be fine dining or super casual, anything in between. I'm hoping not to have to drive all the way into Seattle for good chow. The more local the better.

Thanks.

There is an Italian restaurant on Auburn Way called Auguri where I have enjoyed some very good meals. However, in the past few years, it has acquired a reputation for very inconsistent service and food prep. If you read the online reviews, there are still raves mixed in with the horror stories, but I think it is likely too much of a gamble for a family dinner.

Other than that, I have not yet found a worthwhile restaurant in Auburn.

If you can drive a few miles to either Kent or Federal Way, you will get better options. If you can drive still further than that, Copperleaf near SeaTac airport offers the one truly fine dining experience in South King County and it would certainly make for a memorable evening.
