North Carolina style cold sweet pickle recipe

I made a great batch of pickles about 4 years ago! I lost the recipe. I have been thinking of those pickles for days now. It was a recipe that you had to change the water daily for a week or so and keep in fridge. No boiling cukes... No spices.... no alum....just water, vinegar and sugar. I have looked online for the recipe with no luck :(

Have you done a search for Refrigerator Pickles? I just did and came up with one immediately that was for sweet pickles.

Edit - you don't change the water daily but they sound good.

I've done extensive searches for Refrigerator pickles, x day pickles (3 day, 5 day, 7 day, 9 day 14 day, etc., even in old newspapers and in Archive.org) and have not found the exact recipe described.

seems like a wasteful method, pouring all that sugar out every day!

smitten kitten has a good-looking recipe for bread and butter pickles that i've been wanting to try. i trust smitten kitten's recipes. http://smittenkitchen.com/blog/2010/0...

the pickles are not prepared the way you did your old pickles, but i don't know if that is your principal criteria.
