Will be in this week for a visit. Has any restaurant just (past 6 months) opened that makes you swoon? Please pass it on!

Not 6 months, but Half Shell Oyster House in Sarasota opened in February, I like it. Their char-broiled oysters with various toppings are addictive, as are the barbecued shrimp. FYI, Ceviche in Sarasota is closing (relocating?).

Ceviche is locating to Palm Avenue in the back of storefronts to a former chinese restaurant...

I would pay at least $100 for a dozen of those oysters to magically appear in front of me right now.

They are good - I can scarf down several of the combo dozens.

I think it's been 1 year, so maybe you've tried it, but Indigenous is great every time I go!

Not a restaurant but I would suggest you try Jim's Small Batch Bakery in Sarasota. Jim is putting out some really tasty baked goods!

I would second the recommendation on Jim's Small Batch Bakery. Excellent bread and baked goods. We like Shore, which opened on St. Armand's Circle this summer.

Another new arrival in downtown Sarasota is Darwins on 4th. Peruvian style food, brewery, a lot of small plate items, attractive, dinner only, somewhat pricey.

Yes. I second Darwin's. and what about State Street. Can't remember when they opened, but they are fairly new and good. Fried okra with truffle oil! Yum!

CasAntica on Palm is new and excellent.
Also, the new chinese from Tampa "Yummy House" just opened and is very good.

We are having such a great run of weather you should consider places with outdoor dining for lunch or dinner.

Just had lunch at Yummy House ($6.99 lunch menu includes entree and rice. ) It was indeed yummy. I had the Yummy house chicken and my husband had the Hunan beef. The beef was very good but the chicken was outstanding. Cant wait to go back and try other things. N.B., we arrived just after 12 noon and by 12:20 there was a line waiting to be seated. Service was fast. They have takeout but no delivery.

Does the Sarasota YH have dimsum? My new favorite thing on the menu is the salt n pepper egg plant.

I read or saw they have dim sum on weekends but dont have the details. Next time I go I will try to ask.

Check out Chef Judi's review in Sarasota Magazine, she gave the thumbs up to Yummy House. Looking forward to trying it soon.
