Good place for dinner near serendipity?

Friends intown from florida want to go to serendipity for dessert. Whats a good and not crazy-expensive place for dinner nearby?

    What type of food? Lots of options nearby.
    FYI: Long lines to get into Serendipity especially on weekends.

      Anything would be ok...would love Indian, Chinese or Thai though.

        If you like Mediteranean try Persepolis for Persian, Al Bustan for Lebanese or Sip Sak for Turkish. All within walking distance.
