Nadolski's Butcher Re-opening Thursday, Dec 6!
Not sure of the details, but they will re-open Thursday, December 6, merging his wholesale and retail operations. I believe at the same location.
He may have ruffled a few patrons with the sudden closing but looks like maybe someone stepped up to help out. I know he has had strong support especially from the local community and those of us who are fans of locally produced food.
I'm happy they are re-opening, but I will not be ordering a Christmas roast from them. I'll stop in for steaks, etc. but I feel the way they handled their closing (which I'm interested in what the story is there because I believe there is a story) really hurt their reputation. If it had not been for you and for Facebook, I would have been SOL Thanksgiving.
They called the Monday before Thanksgiving to make sure I had heard they had closed and there would be no turkey for me.
I'm all for supporting local, etc. but they need to be good business people as well as offering a good product. It will take time for them to regain my trust.

I can understand that.
I am actually surprised he is reopening because I know the overhead for that location is very high, considering its not in a high traffic area like, say, Short Pump. Another business in that plaza closed after only a few months, and another business there for a couple of years also closed.
So maybe rent was part of what the deal is, I have a few other ideas but I do not want to speculate. I do know he seemed depressed back when the shop was closing, though overwhelmed with how many people stopped in.
Also, we already went out and got a Christmas roast and are dry aging it ourselves, since Nadolski's was gone.

Well then you just missed out on the best roasts you will ever have. I read your blog, why do you think you are so special that you should know the story? The Nadolski's are great people and they do a great job in a small town, which is definitely not an easy task. Yes, he did close abruptly but John always goes the extra mile to assure the best experience and we all should be very thankful they are back. I know I am!!

I don't think I am so special I should know the story...just interested as a lot of things don't add up.
They are great people and I wish them all the best and I will continue to get meat from them as it is convenient, but I lost faith and trust in them at Thanksgiving and it will take time to earn that back. They handled the situation at Thanksgiving poorly IMO....that has nothing to do with quality of product.
