Looking for lunch stop on the way to Haliburton - in Orillia, Gravenhurst, somewhere else?

We're driving to Haliburton on Saturday, and would like to stop somewhere good for lunch - any great hidden gems along the way? Food doesn't need to be fancy, place doesn't need to be licensed - a great "mom & pop" place or diner would fit the bill, as long as the food is good & freshly prepared.

Era 67 in downtown Orillia is a good choice.
