ISO - Galangal

Hello fellow chowhounders!

I have been on the hunt for Galangal for quite awhile. I work in North York and live in Thornhill... does anyone have a source for Galangal in those areas? Any other area in Toronto is fine but my preference is to find it closer to home or work.

Agree on T&T - I bought some at the Cherry Street location a couple weekends ago. If you're downtown the greengrocer downstairs in SLM ususally has it.

As mentioned by several people T&T, China Town and galleria.
A new find at least for me is the Vientiane Trading (in Etobicoke)

Its a more of a supplier to Thai restaurants but I saw some thing I haven't seen elsewhere.
I would call ahead though.

I get it in Chinatown and I've seen it at Scarborough foodymart. The tone tai in North York is part of the same group but I don't recall seeing it there. Maybe make friends with a thai restaurant and buy some from them. (or for better food, a Malaysian one)

I know this is far from you but I did see Galangal at Oceans and T&T in Mississauga on the weekend.

T&T had it at Cherry Street a few days ago, in the produce section, on white styrofoam trays wrapped in plastic.

If it's not in the produce section there is also some Galangal frozen in the Thai mix you can find in the freezer next to the deli meats.
