Newsbreak - restaurant is closing at the end of the year. Will be moving to and opened in February to a Kapiolani Blvd site, to be announced soon.

Yeah, but the concept is supposed to change as well, with a focus on healthy food. Supposedly no butter in the kitchen, so it won't quite be the same. Should be interesting though.

what a concept... build a shopping/dining center and provide almost no parking, no visibility from the street, and charge high rents. It's been so sad watching one restaurant after another fold over the years. Best of luck to Chai in the new location.

One of the most enjoyable dining experience @ Chai's Aloha Tower was having dinner at the outdoor setting at sunset. with ocean view, and listened to the birds chirping...(and easy parking). I will surely miss it and doubt whether I would go to another faciity in a building where parking will be difficiult and expensive as well (and NO view). In any event, good luck to Chai in his new venture, but count me out.

I'm confused. You could see the ocean from Chai's at Aloha Tower? Where were you seated?

If you dine outside at the very corner towards the ocean under the big tree. Granted not 100% ocean view, just some view...but sunset is beautiful.
