Chowish kosher restaurants?

AdinaA Dec 2, 2012 02:15 PM

What places have the best food (under rabbinic supervision, not "kosher style"). Anywhere form South Beach to Ft. Lauderdale. Any style from hot dog stand to creative chef. Seeking great, chowish food. (A poster on the kosher board suggested asking this question here, of local experts)

The list here at MenuPages is a decent starting point though I'm not sure I'd take them all at face value (was surprised / dubious to see Bengal Indian Cuisine on there):

Sage Deli's got the best bagels in town (though I'm not convinced it's truly kosher rather than "kosher style"). I like Original Pita Hut for typical Israeli stuff - hummus, baba ganoush, shewarma, falafel. I have heard Rare Steakhouse in Mid-Beach is decent. Likewise for Grill Time in Aventura. I was underhwelmed by Cine Citta in Surfside on one visit.
