Bay Area Food Festivals and Events -- December 2012
This Saturday and Sunday, 10 AM to 5 PM: Palestinian Bazaar in Berkeley -- proceeds go to the Middle East Children Alliance relief fund. 1101 8th Street
It's in a pretty out of the way place, down the street from Pyramid Brewery. There's food for sale in the back and a few tables and chairs set up. Hummus, spinach pie, baklava and a few more items. Lots of crafts, too. I saw jars of honey, olive oil and olives.
Hello Chowhounds! CHOW is one sponsor (along with others) of a big bake sale this weekend to raise money for Cookies for Kid's Cancer. There are a bunch of interesting people and bakers and CHOW will be baking for it (the test kitchen is busy baking as we speak!):
Cookies for Kids’ Cancer Holiday Bake Sale
Where: 18 Reasons - 3674 18th St (at the corner of 18th and Dolores, near Dolores Park)
When: Saturday, December 8 from 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Help support a sweet cause this holiday season while picking up delicious holiday treats donated by some of San Francisco's best bakers.
Breakfast treats and baked goods will be available, along with pre-packaged holiday gift packs, which make the perfect hostess gift. Bring your kids along for holiday cookie decorating and crafts!
All proceeds go to Cookies for Kids Cancer and directly fund pediatric cancer research: http://
With each cookie you buy, you will be spreading three times the cheer this holiday season. All proceeds will be matched by OXO and Glad. It doesn't get much sweeter than that!
Cancer claims the lives of more children annually than any other disease – more than asthma, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis and AIDS combined. Your donations to Cookies for Kids' Cancer help fund clinical trials which could give the amazing, strong children battling this disease more holidays to look to forward to with their families and loved ones.
If you are interested in volunteering or donating your own homemade baked treats, please email
If you can't make it, you can still support Cookies for Kids' Cancer and send cookies directly to your loved ones here: http://www.cookiesforkidscancer.org/b.... 100% of the proceeds will directly fund pediatric cancer research.
From everyone at Cookies for Kids' Cancer, we thank you for your support and send best wishes for a happy, healthy holiday season.
Thank you! Meredith
