Eddy has opened on Eddy St. just off Westminster behind Modern Love. Owned by some Dorrance alums. Small menu, small space (about 40 including the bar) but already an industry hangout. Opened last Wednesday. Focusing on properly made cocktails at a reasonable price. 7$ sazerac people!!!

There's an african buffet... Bayal... that I just recently saw in the Chili's plaza off North Main... http://www.bayalbuffet.com/.
Not sure when it opened... I may be late to the table with this one... -

noticed trattoria san vivaldi has changed its name (via aurelia? i think). new signs touting their brick oven pizza as well. i'm assuming it's just a name change and not a full fledged overhaul (or new management).

Rollies has opened next to Cilantro's on Weybosset St in Providence. Pretty sure this spot is on top of ancient Indian burial ground since everything that goes in there closes within two months. I hope these folks make a go of it.
They offer korean rice rolls (think very large maki rolls) . You pick your protein (pork, beef, chicken or mushrooms), up to three veggies and topping sauce.

re: oystertripe
They opened in February under new ownership. Apparently the first couple of weeks were rough, but they got a new chef and reinstated some of the old menu. We went in early March and the place was packed, the service was attentive, and the pizza was great. The crust was probably the best I've had in RI.
