Asheville NYE Dinner

I'm looking for a scrumptious New Years Eve dinner in Asheville. My husband & I will be staying downtown, so that location would be a plus. However, would drive out to something worth the distance. Thanks so much!

I agree with carolinadawg's recs and would just add that Zambra would be slightly more romantic while Curate would be slightly more festive. Food is best at The Admiral, though. Enjoy!

Checked out these three and decided to look for a reservation for the Admiral for NYE. There was NOTHING left on the online reservation service, really???? Can it be this good???? Will call them to verify, but maybe I'll have to put myself in a Spanish mood.....

Yes, that's probably the case, unfortunately. It is that good and that popular.

It's small too. You may find that's the case with Curate as well. Zambra is a great choice, and I'd look at The Junction too. Delicious food and cocktails.

Though they have great cocktails and good apps, I find the entrees at Junction mostly overpriced and underseasoned--book only if the others are full.

I had somewhat an opposite experience at The Junction a few weeks ago; both my appetizer and main course were so overly salted that I had a problem finishing them. The dining room is also very loud. One table of 4 was so loud that it was difficult to converse at our small table. I can imagine what it will be like on New Years.

Aaaah! Sorry y'all have not had luck there - it's one of our favorites. Have never had a bad meal there, and I actually think the price is super-reasonable for what you get seeing how most entrees are under $20. And a loud, energetic, bustling dining room on NYE...that's why I was thinking it would be fun. :)

The Admiral is your best bet, but would require a short drive. Other good choices not requiring driving include Curate and Zambra. If you do a search through the board, you will find dozens of Asheville discussions.
