Making Sourdough Bread

Instead of using packaged yeast or starter cultures to leaven bread, has anyone tried just throwing in a capsule of probiotic supplements? They are after all, filled with healthy bacteria found in yogurt and soured bread, except with a more diverse number of strains. If anyone has tried this or has any theory on this, how did it turn out?

    1. Isn't the point of using yeast/starter to have only those bacteria which will leaven and flavour your bread?
