Venezuelan / Arepas near Chapel Hill?

Hey Chowhounders,

I am looking for arepas in the NC triangle area. Willing to drive for good ones. Suggestions welcome for the Winston-Salem and Charlotte areas as well. Thanks guys!

  1. The N & O recently mentioned a new place opening next week in Raleigh which will feature arepa's.

    1. I'll bump this thread and show Gausaca some love. My wife works near there, and we went today for about my sixth time. The restaurant operation is similar to a Moe's or Chipotle - you go to the counter and pick your meat, sides & sauce. The arepas are always fresh, and the fillings always delicious. Quality food, very economical & always tasty!

The best part is they a right by bottle revolution, so eat outside and treat yourself to a nice beer while eating your arepas.

Guasaca is quite delicious, and according to a Venezuelan friend of mine, it's as authentic as she's had in the Triangle.
