Philly Airport Dining

Am flying through Philly the day after Christmas to Europe. Have a 5 hour layover and wanted to know if the food is any good right in the airport (Us Airways terminal). If not, any suggestions for
places near the airport.

You will be in the A terminal Vina Volla there is ok. If you go outside the security area the restaurant at the airport marriott is passable as well.

There is also a Legal Seafood in that terminal.

I was at PHL yesterday, and you MUST get a Philly Pretzel (along the side of the terminal C) for your trip to Europe. Each pretzel is only $1.10. As for a restaurant, I would recommend downloading the app Gate Guru (this free app provides all necessary airport information). Restaurants including user reviews, Airport Maps, Up-to-the-minute gate information via text, Shopping you name it. The app will recognize your location. It is one of my favorite travel apps.

Legal Seafood is good. It is in the B/C terminal which will be a bit of a hike from A where international US Airways flights depart. But with a 5 hour layover you might not mind the walk.

Though most international US Airways flights leave from terminal A, I have flown US Airways to Europe from Terminal C in addition to A.

My personal window on a layover for considering a cab ride to a good restaurant is 4-5 hours depending of course on how tired or adventurous I am feeling and the specific city distance from the airport to the city. In Philly with 5 hours; I would go for it. See other post for great restaurant destinations in the city. Time of day/night is of course also a factor in taxi time. One man's opinion.

There is a decent sports bar (for an airport) called Jet Rock with burgers and a nice selection of craft beers including my favorite, Magic Hat #9. We killed some time there a month ago while waiting to fly to Dublin. Looks like they have two locations there at Terminal B and D.

Legal Seafood is decent as is Cibo which is a wine bar in A-west and more restaurant-ish in B terminal.
