Banana Cream Tart

I received a gift of this wonderful tart...it has a thin, crisp crust, brushed with melted chocolate (and possibly melted caramel too), filled with delicious creamy custard and sliced banana. Topped with whipped cream, then topped with very thinly shaved dark chocolate. Tartine is a great bakery!

Lucky you! That is my favorite dessert from Tartine. I think it does have a bit of caramel (or maybe it's dulce de leche?)

I personally like their savory stuff even better than the sweets (bread, open faced sandwiches) but this banana cream tart is pretty close to perfect.
