Asheville Food Trucks - where to eat your haul?

danna Nov 27, 2012 09:31 AM

Love El Kimchee and others, but wondering if there are any particularly recommended spots to eat your goodies after you assemble them. For example, in Greenville, The Community Tap encourages people to bring in food from food trucks to eat in their tasting room (and buy a beer or wine from them). anything like that going on in A'ville?

Love the Bywater, they let you bring in your own food.

I was going to say the same, miss piggy. We've only been to Bywater once, but there was a food truck parked onsite. Sad to say that I don't remember which one, but the food wasn't really very memorable. A bunch of folks brought their own food and were using the Bywater grills and picnic tables. Definitely a cool spot that we will visit again. (Bring $5 to become a member if you haven't done so yet!)

Too bad about the $5. We live in Greenville and this will not be a regular thing. Since my husband doesn't drink, he's gonna be irritated. What about the Wedge? why don't think have to do the private club thing? I suppose that would work ok since they often have food trucks on site? (although I imagine I'll be driving all the way up to Vinnie's to get El Kimchee, my favorite)

Oooh, sorry if I made it sound like you need $5 every time! I didn't explain that well. It's a one-time thing, and only one person in the group needs to be a member. Everyone else can be "guests" of the member. Much better than the way I said it first. (:

Yeah, it's only a $5 one-time fee. Definitely worth it and as much as you are up here I bet it would become a regular thing, especially in the summer! Such a fun place to hang out for drinkers and non- drinkers alike considering it's right on the water. I think Wedge can go without since they don't serve liquor? That's my guess.

Thanks, JTom. That's near Bingham Drive, right?

MapQuest shows it just south of Broadway on Riverside Dr. South of UNCA. Never been there so I can't add anything else.
