Spaghetti Tacos

Last night was the final episode of I Carly. On that show they often eat a dish called Spaghetti Tacos, which is exactly what it sounds like. I did a google search and found a lot of parents and kids have actually made this, (it's not hard like the Monty Python Lobster and Spam dish.) Has anyone out there, parent or non parent has any experience making or eating this?

    1. Yes, we've made them, as my daughter was a huge ICarly fan a few years ago (guilty admission - I don't mind the show all that much myself). As long as you can get your mind around the carbs wrapped in carbs concept they're not all that bad. My preference, though, is to use a shrimp scampi over linguine as the taco filling. It's fun in a goofy sort of way. We don't make them very often, I'm happy to say.

The Spanish name for this is 'los tacos de espagueti'. It isn't just an American kids' idea.

Great link. And what a workout for my crummy high school Spanish.

      2. I've seen kids at family-style buffets put them together. If you find yourself at such a place it's a trouble-free way of trying them out.

        1. My boys are eating spaghetti tacos as we speak. This is the first time I have made the tacos. They asked to try them after seeing them on iCarly. I'm not going to try them! It's a fun way for kids to use up leftover spaghetti.

          1. Sorry, this reminds me too much of the cold, leftover spaghetti and mayo (regular or Miracle Whip) sandwiches that my dad used to eat when I was a kid.
