Seeking central coast catering suggestions for a July 2013 wedding
My boyfriend (er, fiancee) and I are getting married at Santa Margarita Ranch this coming July. The Ranch has no kitchen, so we're either looking for BBQ, or an option that will stay hot as I've read this is a challenge with that venue. We live in the Bay Area and while we're planning on coming down to investigate options I need to narrow things down first.
I'm a vegetarian, and I'm not of the mindset that my menu must also be meatless, but I do not want meat to be the sole focus as it is with Santa Maria-style BBQ, where typically the sides consist of only cornbread, beans, coleslaw.
Does anyone have experience with Bon Temps Creole Cafe as a caterer? Is the food good for lunch/dinner or is it a 'good for breakfast only' place? If it's good and they can keep it hot that's my ideal choice.
Or do you know of any southen-style, instead of a Santa Maria-style BBQ that caters *and* offers sides like mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, etc in addition to grilled meats?
Other suggestions would be sincerely appreciated, we're trying to be a bit imaginative here and would prefer a down-home casual option vs. the fancier, more buttoned-up wedding caterer options available in the area.
