Kimchi with pineapple?

I saw this amazing video on PBS's "Mind of a Chef" in which a perky Korean lady makes kimchi using pineapple instead of sugar.

I can't find an actual recipe, though; does anyone know the amounts to use for something like this?

Interesting. I'll ask my mom to try it on her next batch of kimchi. I'm assuming the chipmunk-voiced woman was using it in lieu of the asian pear or apple that is normally used. As you might have guessed, we no use recipe. However, the proportions on this recipe seem pretty good. Not much is needed, and you will still be adding more sugar.

How about using some other kimchi recipe, adding pineapple. Looks like the amount of pineapple is about the same as the amount of onion, may be a bit less. It's probably not critical.

Other kimchi recipes I've found are very different from what this video demonstrates, which is why I'm curious as to how to make it the way this person makes it.

          How about this?

It uses a paste made in the food processor that includes onion and fruit.
