Capri Blu--Rancho Bernardo

Visited my aunt and uncle who live in RB and wanted to check out a new place besides the usual (boring, I might add) places they have typically taken me to in the past....was a little skeptical at first since this restaurant was hard to find in the middle of a rather large suburban strip mall (think it is referred to as 4S by the locals), but, overall was pleasantly surprised. My aunt and uncle split a salad which they both enjoyed and we were served warm bread that was accompanied with a slightly spicy marinara dipping sauce that was delicious. I ordered the veal parmigianna which was very tastey and accompanied with mashed potatoes and green beans. They both had a halibut that was a good size and accompanied with house vegetables. The house chianti was not bad and for the quality/flavor/quantity, etc. I would come back here again. I'm not going to drive out of my way from downtown or tell you it was the best Italian i have ever had nor put it on par with Baci, but it was better than the typical Italian fare I find in the Gaslamp or Little Italy and more reasonably priced. They even have specials throughout the week, including Sundays where for $ 17.95 you get a salad, glass of house wine, and a choice from 4 entrees...overall, a pleasant surprise and overall positive dining experiene in the Rancho Bernardo area.

  1. I pretty much agree with this- ts a place my grand parents like, so we go there from time to time. A small step up from Olive Garden, though not fantastic, totally serviceable.

    1. We (the Rhonely family) think it's the best pizza (albeit a bit expensive) in our area. I've always had a pleasant dining experience here (good service and decent food), though again I think it's a bit overpriced for the quality.
