Thoughts on a pear crostata . . . your thoughts?

So I am making a rustic pear crostata for Thanksgiving. The recipe includes cranberries, but my hostess really doesn't care for cranberries. I am thinking of omitting them, and adding a little bourbon to the pear mixture, and serving with a bourbon whipped cream. Your thoughts?
