Making jelly from tomatoes

Does anyone know the secret to making a delicious jelly from tomatoes? i've tried but it won't set with Certo

  1. i make tomato jam every year. My recipe isn't an exact thing and I don't use any type of jelling agent. I peel and coarsely chop the tomatoes. Then I add sugar til it tastes sweet, but not overpoweringly so. Then I add some cinnamon, cloves, and fresh ground ginger. I let this simmer on low heat all day, stirring occasionally so it doesn't stick. Once it reaches a thickness I like, I can it in 1/2 pint jars. It needs to be waterbathed for 10 minutes. One year I got wild and added some balsamic vinegar; it was yummy too.

      This is pretty close to my recipe for tomato jam (without the balsamic). Try it with a good dose of lime juice sometime.

    2. Do you mind posting the jelly recipe? I make tomato jam a lot but have yet to make tomato jelly (well, aside from aspic :) ).

        I don't have a tomato recipe ready to go yet but I do make and sell savoury jelllies. here's my website: Sorry but I can't give out the recipes for any of these bu they're really yummy. We sell a lot!!

          That is wonderful! I sort of gathered from your name but one never knows! It is no wonder you sell a lot. How scrumptious. I make tons of favours but do not sell them.
