  1. I had the best Filet O' Fish at the downtown KC Mc D's a couple of years ago that still brings tears to my eyes it was that good!

Make sure you go to OK Joe's for BBQ..gas station locale.

SIL/BIL used to live in OP and Lenexa..I'll text them to see if they have any thoughts for you Ipsy.

Well since I'm flying into KC I'm going to have to sample that FoF. I'll make sure to bring extra Kleenex.

And thanks for asking your inlaws!

My smart alec BIL says that he remembers that the Denny's on 87th street is good.
His friends say that Koma Sutra, Tannin, Fiorella's are quite good.
Check out the Power and Light district..

Have a great time in KC and a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks, and same to you and your family!

Just our luck we got to Oklahoma Joe's at 9 pm, about half an hour after they had closed.

So it was just my luck that I got dragged kicking and screaming to Bo Lings ... but not before I made sure we made a pit stop at McDonalds.

Nothing is more Dali-esque I suppose than seeing one Black gal and one Chinese person eating at an "upscale" Chinese restaurant in the 'burbs of Kansas City with the Chinese person munching on Filet-O-Fish sandwiches and the Black gal slurping up moo gai pan!

          Very Dali-esque..

I thought you were going to KC over the holidays.
You two have fun and make sure you hit up the Ok Joe's gas station location and they have a small store with bbq sauce and other goodies.
I had the best FoF of my life at the KC McD's on the outer rim of the city heading to Lawrence.

It's a business trip that got postponed.

Are you still in the KC? Here's Keith's labor of love site of various places, eating and otherwise.
RJ's bob-be que shack is in Mission, open til 9.

      3. Not sure what kind of grub you're looking for. Hot Basil has quite good Thai food at 119th and Metcalf. They're open till ten.

If you want a more "pub grub/sport bar-ish" experience, I'd recommend Barley Brewhaus. They're further west on 119th, at Quivira.

There a lot of upscale places in Leawood. Generally that's not my favored scene, but if I had to pick one I'd recommend Room 39, which is in a development called Mission Farms at I-435 and Mission Rd. (They have a sister restaurant in midtown KC.) Room 39 also serves till ten.

          Cool. Thanks very much.

I'm just looking for good eats at that hour. My bar isn't going to be set too high.

Room 39 looks interesting. Anything you recommend, and yes I understand from the looks of it that their menu changes periodically. Just looking at their current menu the lamb pate and pumpkin risotto sound awfully good.

ABC Cafe, really good cantonese food open til midnight I think -dim sum to order, red cooked hot pot dishes, steamed fish, stir fried things. Congee too. At 87th and 35 sorta, a few blocks east

I don't think you can go wrong with the pumpkin risotto. I've had their squash risotto - it was memorable.
