Popeye's coming to East Brunswick

I saw the signage going on the building this morning. This is in front of Hong Kong Market on Rt. 18 South. It's joined at the hip with a pre-existing Burger King.

When I saw the topic, I guessed that they were taking the Pollo Tropical property. The former PT near my parents' house became a Popeye's. I was wondering what was up with the BK construction. It's a real eye sore.

Smashburger is due to open in early 2013 a unit or two over from the Muscle Maker Grill.

Popeyes is going to be right next to Burger King in front of the Chinese market on Rte 18. They extended the building and going in.

Construction of a White Castle in the K Mart parking lot has been approved. What could possibly be left to take over the vacated Pollo Tropical?

Well, I checked out this list:

The only one that really makes any sense, and would fit in there well, would be Taco Bell. Arby's and Five Guys are also possibilities. Or maybe we'll get a great independent wing or BBQ place. I'm surprised it's been vacant as long as it has.

East Brunswick.. more fast food chains per capita than nearly anywhere! :)

How about Moe's? I've never been to one, which is to say there's none that are convenient for me.

There's one in Marlboro, on Rt. 9 north, behind the McDonald's.

We went opening day. Haven't been back since. Not that it's bad.. but if I'm going to eat Tex-Mex or chain Mexican, I prefer either Baja Fresh (LOVE the salsa bar!) or Salsarita's. Or Chipotle.

I went to the one in North Brunswick today. Tacos were good, and the place wasn't packed like Chipotle always seems to be. Probably because it was before noon.

I have been to the one located on Rt 1 in North Brunswick a few times. I used to like it more than Chipotle, but recently have been favoring Chipotle. One thing Moe's has is the Coca Cola products soda machine via which you can choose from something like a hundred different varieties of soda.

Moe's also has a salsa bar with some nice salsa choices.

I saw that when I was driving by this weekend. I hope that they will build one by Burger King in Freehold!

Pollo Tropical is going to be an Urgent Care walk in clinic. I guess the saturation point for fast food has been reached.
