The Hot Pastrami RIP (Sacramento)
Went by the Hot Pastrami (on Auburn Blvd near Watt)for a lunch sandwitch and was sorry to learn they are closed. They had a great Pastrami sandwitch, draft beer, pickle and chips for about 5 bucks. I'll miss it. -RIP-

Well it has taken some time but we have found an old Good Evening Sacramento TV spot on the place. We are still trying to get money to reopen in some form be it in a building or in a lunch truck but finding the money isn't easy. Banks seem to want no part in loans these days.

Yes it was sad, after the owner passed away 3 of her 4 children wanted to sell the land and split it.
I know it has been 5 years but we are in the last part before we find a new building and reopen the hot pastrami. Our aim is to make it before october 2011 which is 40 years from when we first opened.

re: TheHP
Hey man,
Did/do you work for the hot pastrami? If not, what are your sources for the information regarding them reopening? I just about pissed myself when I read that you were planning on bringing back the Hot Pastrami. Shoot man, I lost my HP t-shirt a couple years ago and have been itchin to get a new one.I live in Boston now but I'm not joking I will fly out for the grand re-opening.

re: sevennus
Yes I did, I was the cook for the last 5 years or so, Janet's son and the grandson of the owners, Esther and Lorin.
I am trying hard to bring the place back but sadly we keep having investors pull out at the last minute.
We are now on Facebook as well.
