Newish in Pawling
Brand new, looks good: Karens's Drive-In Restaurant 410 Route 22 Pawling; 845-878-6654. It's less than a mile south of Heinchon Dairy.
A bit further north, also on the east side of 22 and set back further from the road, is Rincon Latino. I didn't get an address.
Has anyone tried either?

Karen's has been there, virtually unchanged, for about 20 years. Karen did recently update her menu (just the menu itself - not the selections). Seriously though the food is great, service is fine. Lots of locals from Pawling eat there regularily including me.

Huh! Building and sign looks new, and for a couple weeks every time I tried to go in it was closed with workmen doing stuff inside. Maybe just update work. Thanks for the endorsement, I did get a good vibe. Will try soon.
What do people think about the wood fired pizza truck up the road?

re: Jim Leff
I go by Karen's a lot and never noticed anthing going on, but maybe I just missed it. She does close at 3:00 PM. Someone else had the place before Karen. I think it was called Holiday House or something like that. I went there in 1978.
I have heard one good comment about the pizza truck and a few negative (including me). The dough is a bit different and not to my liking. Also asked the guy about thin-crust pizza and he said he would make it really thin. Well, his idea of thin crust certainly isn't mine. It was standard medium crust. Pizza is a really personal thing. Give it a try and see how you like it.
