Pain Du Jour has moved its baking operation from Santa Monica to 13528 S. Inglewood Ave. in Hawthorne. They still have their Santa Monica location, but the Hawthorne base is really nice, and they deliver to Santa Monica every morning. They offer a wide variety of croissants, still excellent, as well as their tarts, macaroons, etc and also cakes and pies. Greatly enjoyed their almond chocolate croissant.

The croissants and breads are stellar, but there is no place to eat them except a stark outdoor patio. It's worth the trip if you are anywhere near the airport area, though.

Sorry, I guess my post wasn't clear. Yes, it's a really nice bakery shop in a most unassuming neighborhood. When we went there, they were out of the almond chocolate croissants, so the baker there went back and baked us up some fresh ones. That never happened at Santa Monica. So "fresh-baked" is more likely at the Inglewood location. Love to hear what you think.
