New and exciting holiday recipe spotting...2012 edition

I noticed 2 things in recent magazines that I will make when surrounded by more eaters than usual (the cats aren't into sweets)...the pecan pie brittle from the November Saveur, and the cranberry-grapefruit shortbread from the November Bon Appétit.

What have you come across recently in print or elsewhere that just screams: MAKE ME???

I heard a blurb the other day on NPR about Korean-influenced dishes that have become traditional at one family's holiday table. I think the kimchi smashed potatoes sounded really good but there were other tempting items mentioned, including twice-fried apple eggrolls with ginger mascarpone cream.
