Need recs for a mid-price, one-kid-friendly place. American food most likely.

Lunch or Dinner? Nickel Dinner or Philippe's French Dip or Wurstkuche or Umamicatessen are all kid friendly.

Thanks wienermobile. It will be an early dinner, about 5. Great suggestions. Nickel Diner website looks good but they close at 3:30 Sundays. It's noisy but umamicatessen might fit the bill.

Umamicatessen and Wurst are very reasonable, kid friendly, fun places.

Not sure how kid-friendly the menu at Unamicatessen is.

It's fine before 8pm for kids.

My kids enjoyed their cheeseburgers & donuts at lunchtime. I assume they serve the same menu all day.

Same menu all day but it does gets more bar like into the evening.

That's what I thought you meant.

          How about Roy's?

Unless something has drastically changed recently, I do not think Roy's qualifies as mid-price, kid-friendly, or American food.

What's not mid-priced about it? 3-course prix-fixe menu for less than 40 sounds like mid ranged to me.

Not sure what "kid friendly" means exactly, but I think the desserts there are certainly friendly for people of all ages.

And, what's more American than fusion?

Entrées run from $16-27. That is not mid-priced to me

Most children I know are not too keen on seafood

As for what is more American than items like misoyaki black cod, Korean soup and sashimi, I am thinking hamburgers or simple chicken dishes

I tend to think 16-27 is mid-priced. But that's just me.

I can barely get out of Philippes for less than 10.
And more often than not it's closer to 15.

Thanks all. We made the safe choice for this group: Daily Grill.

I'd have to agree that Roy's is more of a $$$ place than a $$ place. I think ipsedixit may be the type to light cohibas with $100 bills.

                Curse you, one percenter! :)
