Thanksgiving Recommendations for Ft. Myers/Cape Coral/Sanibel

  • 7

Anyone have any recommendations for restaurants that are open on Thanksgiving in the Ft. Myers, Cape Coral and Sanibel Island areas? Serving Thanksgiving dinner is a plus, but not necessary.

  1. Thistle Lodge, Sanibel. Beautiful location on the Gulf, excellent food.

Bayfront Bistro, Fort Myers Beach beautiful location looking over bay, excellent food.

Marker 92, Cape Coral great spot on the river. Good food.

Should be on Open Table for reservations. You are a little late looking for reservations at good places.

I would pick Thistle Lodge first.

Thanks LMF! Thistle Lodge was booked and only had a waiting list for cancellations. Marker 92 was also booked solid and they'd only seat walk-ins outside, but Bayfront Bistro had an opening so that's where we'll be.

Have a great Thanksgiving, GoodGravy...cute name BTW...Bayfront Bistro is a very good restaurant.

Bayfront Bistro was good. They had a shortened holiday menu including turkey and ham, along w/ grouper, salmon and filet mignon. The turkey tasted like it was brined, but the ham was oddly lacking in flavor and the bourbon glaze was absent. Luckily, I was the only one that had the ham and everyone seemed satisfied w/ their meals.

Glad your dinner was acceptable. I never would have high hopes for a holiday meal at any restaurant. I always recommend places that have lots of tropical atmosphere at least there is a view, it nothing else.

Did you complain about the ham? I'm sure they would have replaced it with something else. I imagine they gave the ham no thought at all when planning their holiday offering.

About 5 years ago we went to the Ritz Carlton holiday buffet at the Naples Ritz. $100 pp with cheap swill wine. Stringy turkey but huge buffets of all sorts of other things. I felt we would have done better at Perkins!! That was my one and only restaurant Thanksgiving. I love cooking and can do Thanksgiving in my sleep.
From your postings, it looks like you are from Toronto...that is one of my favorite cities in the world.

I'm actually from NYC, but I'm in Toronto a lot. This was my first restaurant Thanksgiving too, and I actually felt bad for the staff having to serve us instead of be w/ their family. I figured the shortened holiday menu was no typical of their normal offering and I didn't object to the ham enough to complain. I'd rather do the home cooking too, but in this case it was an unplanned event so my thanks for helping me find a place to celebrate!

    2. if you dont mind a drive down to Naples-my wife and i have taken the dinner/sunset cruise on thanksgiving aboard the Naples Princess
