Beaujolais Nouveau Day (France) is on Thursday, November 15, 2012
I have attended a couple of celebrations in the past, but I don't see much hoopla anymore except for at Spec's. Maybe it's because this is a wine that practically must be consumed before the end of the day or it's toast? The time I opened a bottle two weeks after the opening bell day put me off the wine for a long while. Will you rush to the wine merchant on Thursday and claim a bottle or two?

I used to, but for about the same money you can go with a starter Beaujolais such as Jadot, a Burgundy negociant, not noveau but a better value in my opinion, and certainly to me tastes better.
You might also check the wine board, there is certainly to be some dicussion.

Thanks! I was kinda curious if anyone here is celebrating even perhaps at a restaurant. I'd like to appreciate this event and may try again. I see that Bistro Provence is hosting an evening tomorrow.
