Joe's No-Frills on Denman - President's Choice Branded Products?
I am a Californian who's hopelessly addicted to President's Choice Memories of Szechuan peanut sauce (to the point where every one of my Canadian friends has at some point been required to bring me a bottle or two when they visit).
I'll be in Vancouver this week and want to stock up, but I hear that President's Choice products are only available at Loblaws supermarkets, and apparently there are none downtown.
Do you think the Loblaws-owned Joe's No-Frills in Denman Mall carries PC sauces?

that reminds me - isn't there a Super Valu in cute Edgemont Village in North Van (above the Upper Levels, "east" of Capilano Rd?
so if you are going sightseeing out to Grouse Mtn or Cap Canyon - then you might stop by in Edgemont at the retro looking building that houses Super Valu (there are other nice shops in the neighbourhood - incl knitting yarn ; BC Playthings (a famous old BC toy and game shop); a nice bookstore for children books - a nice florist etc.) Lots of mid-mod houses too - a la Eichler (famous in So Cal) - there is a free tour sheet on the District of North Van website - tho many are shielded by the proverbial overgrown rhodos and junipers and such.

Just so the Loblaw Group's various brandings are clear, these stores in western Canada are all part of their empire:
- Real Canadian Superstore (RCSS)
- T & T Supermarket
- No Frills
- SuperValu
- "Your Independent Grocer"
- Extra Foods›2 Replies -
Not all No Frills carry every single PC product, or if they do, they may have fewer quantities on the shelves. There have been times when I was trying to get specific PC versions of products at two No Frills stores (Broadway@Yukon, Fraser@29 Av) and neither of them had them, forcing me to go to the Superstore on Marine Dr @ Main St.

well you never know
i would call and ask before schlepping over there
there is a superstore in Park Royal (you could walk over Lions Gate and get the Blue Bus back downtown (or bus both ways)go to www.loblaws.ca for store locations
there was supposed to be a loblaws up on Lonsdale and approx 15th (seabus across and bus up Lonsdale - easy - and near Ayoubs) - but i don't think it's open yet.
i checked the PC website and i see your fav product is still avail - but again, i would call first and usually the PC branded stores will be very helpful and order in for you
NB - Super Valu also carries PC - i think there is a Super Valu on Davie and also one on Commercial .And for sure it is spelled Valu (no e) --- these are independent stores that i believe belong to a buying group - and they all have PC products.
i agree, they are good products.
they even make a PC "joe joe" minty flavour - reminds us all up here of Trader Joes›6 Replies -
The no frills stores do carry PC sauces. You may be in luck. You might find this "store finder" link useful.
