Bosc - The New Lou
If you’ve been to Lou, you’ve been to Bosc. It’s the same.
Frisee salad was a quality take on a classic dish. Lettuce was fresh, and the lardons were meaty and generous. The egg on top was perfectly poached and added the creaminess to offset the vinaigrette.
The wheat berry salad was interesting and filling, with goat cheese, cranberries, walnuts and the delicious wheat berries themselves. It’s served warm.
The charcuterie plank had two types of salami, both very flavorful, and a deliciously smokey prosciutto. The three cheeses were a Danish bleu, a firm goat cheese and a smooth Spanish cheese. It’s served with cornichons, nuts and candied clementines.
The orecchietta (sic) pasta had a generous amount of flavor-filled sausage with a little spicy bite to it. Also in the dish were fresh tomatoes and greens. It was not over-sauced, and quite satisfying.
As before, they have an interesting wine and beer list, including Alagash white and Duchess de Bourgogne beers, both favorites. And the Pecorino was a good white wine to accompany the meal. Madeira was served refrigerated… much too cold to enjoy.
Overall a good meal. We’ll be back.
