Lunch on Halsted Street

Does anyone know a good lunch near North Halsted Street that's open on a Saturday? We will be shopping at some of the stores around there (primarily Barbour) and wanted a trendy lunch that serves cocktails, wine or beer. Price isn't a big deal. Thank!

Frog n Snail or Jack's on Halsted are both good and fit the description of what you are seeking.

Not exactly what I'm looking for..Frog N Snail doesn't have lunch (only brunch) and Jack's doesn't look very upscale. Any other suggestions....it doesn't have to be right near Halstead. I appreciate the feedback!

I assume from your mention of Barbour that you're looking for a place on Halsted near Armitage (2000N).

Barbour is just a few doors down from Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba, a longtime favorite for tapas. I ate there for Saturday lunch/brunch just a few weeks ago, and it's exactly what you're looking for. Right now the brunch menu only shows brunch-ish items, but you can ask to also see the regular lunch and dinner menus and they can bring you anything on them, including all their tapas and pinxtos ("mini tapas"), even if you're there at lunchtime on a Saturday. And they have plenty of choices for cocktails, wine (including sangria), and beer. You can check out their food and drink menus on their website at www.cafebabareeba.com I recommend making a reservation in advance (they take them on Opentable.com as well as over the phone) as they were pretty busy when I was there. Great food, very lively atmosphere, and still a trendy place to go. Seems like exactly what you're looking for, and you can't beat the convenient location.

      >> Jack's doesn't look very upscale.

Jack's on Halsted is actually quite nice (and the food is very good), but it's over a mile north of Barbour, and their alcoholic selections are limited.
