Italian with family after show

We are going with family (5 of us total) to a show in early Dec in Downtown St. Paul and then to dinner afterwards. The usual place of choice has been Buca, but just came across DeGidios on W 7th (never been there)...opinions ?

DeGidios is really Old School....nowhere near the quality of Buca....very Spaghetti and Meatballs.

I am partial to Carmelos, but don't go on a night when I want to go!

DeGidio's: old Style St. Paul red-sauce Italian. Good hot dago sandwich.

You know, Cossetta's has a new fine dining/sit down restaurant (Louie's) opening November 19. Might be worth a shot. If you go, please do tell us how it turns out. http://www.twincities.com/restaurants...

      I don't understand why they don't have a website.

Agreed on GeGidio's. Not fancy, no gimmicks, regular - but entirely adequate servings...better food than Buca IMO. I think Buca has been on a long, slow, steady decline and we simply don't eat there anymore. DeGidio's, however, does lack any kind of ambiance.
The new Cossettas is a fine suggestion, based on the quality of their current food. Or, you may want to try Yarusso Brothers just on the other side of downtown. Great family eastside spagetti joint. If you have never been, go. It is an experience.

It's opening Nov. 20 (Tuesday) and they do have a website, it's just not up and running for Louis yet - http://www.cossettas.com/ Hopefully soon.
