Brents looking for third location

I have a good location for Brent's, how about the closed Coco's on Ocean Park Blvd with lots of parking next to the Santa Monica Airport office center?

Too bad they didn't take the Brentwood Cheesecake Factory space. Great patio, full bar, underground parking. BTW, does anyone know what is going into the space? Lots of construction going on.

The old Cecil's Ribs location on Ventura Bl in Sherman Oaks is up for lease. 13625 Ventura Blvd. It's HUGE. great area - desperate for a good deli.

Deli's need a big parking lot normally, at least the ones that do well in L.A. seem to thrive based on our car crazed culture when the customers don't have to valet or circle endlessly looking for street parking.

If they want to say that publicly they can. I was told differently by two people, one of whom is a very trusted long time employee and the second person is within the family. I did not post until the second person verified this information months later.

Sounds like Brent's in not opening in the Encino Islands location. Some undisclosed fast food chain is coming instead according to the Encino Patch.

The ultimate ironic move would be to Jerry's in Studio City once they close. It would restore that space to top deli status instead of the low that it is now. Can you imagine the people that really think Jerry's is a great deli when they sample Brent's food and service? Oh my my!

My Fit Foods is moving into the former Island's Encino location...sadly not Brent's.

No, they don't. Only a small amount of parking in back of the building.

That may be a problem and the street parking is ridiculously unavailable most of the time with a part- time valet.

That's why I encourage them to look at the Jerry's location in MDR. Huge, free non-valet lot. Parking for everyone!

A trip to either Northridge or Westlake Village will have to suffice for the moment.
Regardless of where Brent's locates, it will not open until at least Spring, probably Summer. It does take a while to remodel, and have you ever tried to get work done in December or early January? Good luck.
My guess would be summer, due to permits, ABC postings, etal.

I was waiting for someone to chime in on that great question . I would call one of the guys that work the takeout deli and ask. They seem to experienced with the products. When you find out please let us know.

Except for their chopped liver and potato salad. The first is actually sweet. Do they add sugar??? The potato salad usually consists of chunks of hard, not fully cooked, potato.

But, if we're talking about an unconstrained fantasy, then I vote for Wilshire Blvd. Can they just kick out all the unappetizing restaurants next to Ross and put in a Brent's? They'll even have easy parking! Or maybe where Seed Bistro used to be? ::sigh::

I'll actually tell you where there is a great location, with parking, that would work well for this little exercise in fantasy. The old Hamburger Hamlet location that briefly turned into Crossroads BBQ and a Mexican restaurant called Bubba Diego's adjoining it on Sepulveda Blvd and National.

My error...I ment to say ANOTHER location in the SFV. Yes, such as Encino, Tarzana, Woodland Hills. Nothing is for sure now but at least they are looking. A very trustworthy employee mentioned it not long ago and as I was leaving I saw someone closer to the situation that verified it again.(with a wonderful smile on their face.) We also briefly discussed the possibility of Jerrys taking a hit financially and it was verified that that may possibly occur. (evil laugh)
This could be like a deli supercenter right in our own backyards.

Replace the Jerry's in the Marina Del Rey location. That will also open up a huge catering business for them in the Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City and Westchester area (among others).

Brent's ...if you are reading this listen to this man.... he is a Chowhound God. There are no good delis on the westside. It is a no-man's land until Nate n' Al's in Beverly Hills. That could be a lot of new customers for a westside Brent's.

I understand the need in MDR and the Westside but face-it driving sucks. I would think that nobody (from the family) wants to make that drive every day especially after putting in very long days. Also backup is not far away if they stay locally. I would think that after the third location (look at me planning the future of Brent's) they would go over the hill or.....open another restaurant in THE VALLEY! Ha! (I am cruel but hey this is Brent''s Deli)

I make the trip to Brent's from the South Bay at least once a month, I would love to be able to go more often but the 405 and I are not the best of friends.

The 405 is not anyones friend. I live about ten miles away from Northridge. I love it. I go once a week if not a bit more. I love the food. I love the service. Brent's makes me feel like I am at home. They are one of the best deli's in the USA.

Mendocino Farms was considering a large storefront here in Atwater Village some time ago. I think Brent's should consider it for a new business in the heart of LA.

We have large boulevard sidewalks for outdoor dining. And Atwater Village is considered as an up and coming neighborhood after Silverlake, my old haunt.

Weiler's -- not IN the Warner Center, but nearby (Victory between Canoga and De Soto) is a pretty good deli. Not great, but pretty good.
