Brennan's on auction block?

Did you guys see the story on nola.com today about Brennan's being pulled off the auction block today? Didn't know they were on the cusp of being sold! Anyone have scoop?

Details are still rather murky, but there appears to yet be unlimited drama within the Brennan family.

I sw that teh writ was for over $4 million. Tulane sold them that building 30 years ago so that should have been LONG paid off. Have they been loading debt to finance that part of the family's expansions? Or borrowing to stay afloat? And if THEY have been doing it, who else is doing it?

Well, once we were not big fans, but decades went by, and they managed to win us over. Now, they may be gone? Such is life.

Guess that we are just not traveling to NOLA, as much as we should. My bad.

I felt that way years ago, but then things changed, either for us, or for them. Over the last 10 years, we've dined with them (brunch) maybe 6 times, and have been impressed, as I have stated on this board. Once, I was NOT a fan, but changed my mind.

Just got back from New Orleans on Monday, and they *seemed* reasonably busy when I walked past @ lunch . . . only ate there once myself.
