Best Live Dungeness Crab In PDX

Having a party and I'm looking for the cheapest place to buy live Dungeness Crabs in Portland.

Another vote for Om Seafood. They have at least 4 500 gal. tanks of live dungeness. They also don't cop an attitude when you say "pick out a couple nice ones."

Another vote for OM Seafood. Great selection of live seafood at excellent prices.

Fred Meyer and QFC often have sales on them, and when they do, it is usually the cheapest price in town. Barring a sale there, on the east side I'd check Om Seafood and ABC Seafood on SE Powell and also Fubon on SE 82nd.

Jill, what do you think about going direct to Pacific Seafood on Powell? Do they have them live?

I haven't had great luck with stuff from there in the past...and they are only open M-F no weekend hours. I think that they do have them live, when they have them, but I don't remember their prices being that great.

Good to know - thanks J. My dad used to manage a seafood company at the coast and was friends with Dominic back when he started Pacific Seafood, so I have a nostalgic connection to them, but good to know I don't need to both treking over there to get my seafood. I'll stick with Flying Fish and Newman's for now!

Those are my top choices for fish purchases too (Lyf at Flying Fish has some great fish), but for live dungeness I'd probably go to ABC or OM on SE Powell.
