Visiting Greenville, SC for Thanksgiving Week.

I am interested to hear from some of the local hounds in regards to any new restaurants to try or existing ones that should not be missed. I am willing to travel if need be. Thank you all.

The only thing I can recommend is The Augusta Grill on Augusta Rd. I've recently moved here from Charleston and have been EXTREMELY disappointed with the restaurant scene here. I had high hopes for the Lazy Goat and it turned out to be a huge let down. The seafood was tough and the paella was bland and gluey. I've eaten and High Cotton in Charleston and it was O.K. I had Eggs Benedict and it was almost as good as what I'd make for myself so I never went back. I thought it was over-rated. A "good" restaurant in Greenville is like a mediocre one (or worse) in Charleston. The bar is set a lot lower here (unfortunately for those of us who are accustomed to more sophisticated tastes). The Augusta Grill though I would put on a par with a good Charleston restaurant.

What kind of food are you looking for? Best bets are Devereaux's and High Cotton. Grill Marks has also turned into a good place. Steller on Main Str just got a new Chef. The LAzy Goat is also very good. Stay away from Red Fin.

Thank you for the response JB. I have been to Devereaux's and High Cotton. Enjoyed Both. I am not looking for any type of food in particular. Just good stuff.

Then the Goat should be on the list. Stella in Simpsonville is certainly worth the drive.

I forgot about the #1 Restaraunt on Trip Advisor THE OWL at 726 Wade Hampton Blvd. There are on this board.
