Shipping Macarons

I like to ship family and friends hand made candies, chocolates, etc. for Christmas. I was thinking of adding macarons to the mix this year. Does anyone have experience with shipping home-made macarons? I wont be using any gel pack or anything to keep it cold, so I understand the fillings need to be safe at room temperature until eaten.

  1. Macaroons tend to draw moisture from anywhere they can find it (like the atmosphere) so I wonder how appealing they'll be when the reach their destination.
