This is a great new restaurant in Vallejo. Its been open about 6 months I think. I would describe it as hearty well seasoned modern California cuisine with Asian, Mediteranean and Latin nfluences. We tried it a few months ago and went back last night. The firs time we went it was really last good and last night it was even better. It was pretty amazing.

Here is what we ate:

salad of full moon garden greens: very good but the salad we had last time was better

mac & cheese: It’s fairly common to see this on upscale menus but its often boring. This version was excellent, the best mac and cheese I remember eating in a long time. Was made with betchamel, thinly cut pasta and brioche breadcrumbs. Deliscous!

Red snapper in a dashi broth with tangerine foam: This tasted like something you might eat in a really good restaurant in Osaka. Deliscous.

Short ribs in mole sauce, beets, carrots and radish: Another wining dish. Deliscous. The mole
accentuated but did not overpower the taste of the moist perfectly cooked ribs.

pain perdu mapled vanilla bean ice cream: I am not a big desert person and when I eat dessert I like it to have chocolate. But this dessert was fantastic. Perfectly balenced and deliscous.

Bill for two with wine, pellegrino and tip was about $150.

This place seems like it belongs in Napa or Berkeley so it’s a honor to have it in Vallejo. I hope it sticks around. Highly recommended.

That you went back says a lot. Was this fixed price or ala carte?

      It's a price fix menu.
