Florida Cookery Delay
I went by the James Royal in SOBE and asked the guard out in front of the driveway when the place will be opened and he said end of this month. It should have opened November 1st
Anyone know if this is true? I hope not...

I haven't been over there yet, but it seems they must at least be doing some friends and family type stuff as there were some tweets about some dishes a couple days ago.

Went again and I thought the food was even better. It may be better than red light was. On the dessert side the bread pudding was the best (might be my favorite in miami) and the pineapple cake was great.
On the savory side, the shrimp and ribs were better and the conch chowder was really great as was the duck egg and cheese, and the latina salad (meat based salad).

Yes, only because when a restaurant gives a specific date, that usually means they passed final inspections and are ready to open - especially a hotel. This, bolstered by the fact that they started doing friends and family just a few days before. Finally, he closed Red Light to concentrate on this place. I don't think they would have closed red light unless they had their inspections in the bag and were ready to go.
When the date is not specific, those are subject to delays such as inspection, etc..

From what I know, the hotel isnt ready yet and they keep getting shut down by the Fire Marshall. I'm assuming fire system isn't up to code? They've been able to get in a few days after 5pm (if they havent been shut down that day) to do some modified friends & fam type stuff but that's it. This info is from a friend that's in contact with the restaurant rather frequently.
