Another thread that mentioned oyster dressing made me think of this. One of the best dishes I've ever had in my life was at a restaurant called "Louisiana Lagniappe" in Destin FL. Basically an oyster on the half shell with a dollop of cornbread dressing on top which is all baked together. I think it may have had some cheese as well.

Anybody here ever make this?

  1. That sounds delicious. Almost like a Rockefeller but with cornbread dressing. The Louisiana side of my family always makes an oyster dressing for Thanksgiving. It is The Trinity sauted in butter with cooked white rice and little stock and then shucked oysters cooked until warmed. My favorite Thanksgiving side!
