NCFood blog farewell to David Cecelski

One of my favorite NC food blogs has posted a farewell. David Cecelski has authored NCFood sponsored by N.C. Folklife Institute. David is off to new projects and challenges.

I will deeply miss this blog. I've learned much about my adopted state. His posts have inspired many a day trip for me. Several of my favorite NC food spots were experienced because of his writing.

Even without new posts this blog is worth returning to. There is a wealth of information and wonderful writing which weaves the traditions of the past into a rich snapshot of NC foodways.

The NC Folklife Institute is seeking contributors to write new food blog entries...they even pay $25 for each one they accept! I hope some CHers will have some good ideas to submit.

Bummer! I love his work. His writing goes so much deeper than the food into the lives of people, families and history of the state.

I agree. His stories become a part of you. They are a part of why I feel deeper roots here than the years spent would suggest.
