Best pizza (gourmet or street) near 5th ave & 59th

    on the higher end of things, i like PizzArte, on 54th between 5th and 6th. neapolitan-styled pies. good margherita and another with sopressata. dining room upstairs much nicer than on ground floor, where the oven is. pies are sized for one eater but generous at that, so you could get by with two pies for every three people IMO.

        for historical purposes, PizzArte is on 55th.

      Pizza by Certe makes an excellent, somewhat upscale, slice. My favorite is their square ('bakers") Italian Wedding slice. 56th Street btween Park and Lexington.

        Thanks all. Made a decision before reading seeing these posts... Went with don Antonio's. Tasty and help up relatively well considering we had it delivered. Smoked mozzarella pizza with pumpkin and a few other veggies was particularly good.
