TJ's Holistic Natural Feline Treats [split from Chains]

AmyH Oct 20, 2012 12:04 PM

I thought I saw it on this thread, but now I can't find it. But anyway,my cats give a big yea to the TJ's holistic natural feline treats. I gave one to them when I got home from the store (not their normal treat time) and their eyes lit up! They're looking forward to treat time tonight!

yep - i've recommended them a couple of times. we call them "cookies," and when i say the word (or even put my hand on the jar, which they now recognize), my girls come running! two paws up for these in our house.

Based on your recommendation, I picked some up today. Whoops, as I typed this, I realized that I gave them their usual treats instead. I'll see what they think tomorrow. AFAIK, the only requirement for one is that it be put in front of his face, and for the other, that she hear it hit the floor.

Reporting back: they love them. Somehow when I bought the treats, it looked like they were small pieces. I must have only been seeing the ends or something. They're big enough that I didn't give them as many as I usually do of the Temptations. Well, and the price difference will keep it in check also!

yay :) and yes, they're larger than most treats - that's why i call them "cookies." Sasha & Sophie each get one a day.

haha. I got some today too!! They're a lot bigger than his normal treats. He kind of picked it up and dropped it, looked and me and meowed, and then chowed down. Then he begged for more. Seems like a winner as long as there's no barfing tonight! Thanks!!

uh oh, it appears i've started an addiction among the Chowkitties. so help me if TJ's ever stops carrying these and they all protest - i'll have to go into hiding from you guys :)

Now I have an image of cats with pitchforks and flaming torches gathering in the TJ's parking lot!

Have your girls tried their canned or dry cat foods?

nope - i can't stand the smell of canned, and i don't like the nutritional values of the dried. i'm actually overhauling their diet - i had a change of heart thanks to the discussion in the dedicated pet food thread:

Yep, IndyGirl. I got that reaction from Abby. She looked at me like "What am I supposed to do with this thing?" and then went to town on it.

OK, now that they've been eating the treats, I see why I thought they were smaller. It appears that about half of the bottle is crumbled bits. I don't know if that's common, or if I got one that had been used in a soccer game?

must be the latter - mine are intact all the way through. bring it back and have them exchange it.

Oh, I will. TJs is pretty close to home. I'd planned on it, but just wondered if it was unusual. Thanks for letting me know that they're not usually that way!

Ours has a lot of crumbled bits, too. They may be pretty fragile.

Ours too. But my kitty doesn't mind at all.

Ahhhh, OK. I'll be headed out to trade in an hour or so, so I'll keep that in mind. It's just more difficult to divvy out crumbles to the kids than whole treats, since the little monster insists that it be tossed to her where she can hear it. Mr. Grumpy has it put in front of his face, and makes enough of a mess slobbering over whole pieces, without losing crumbles in my lap or on the floor.

hmm, maybe we just got lucky since you all have broken ones. i just checked the jar again, and they're ALL intact...and i shake it to let them know it's cookie time!

All the jars that I checked on the shelf today had whole pieces all the way to the bottom. Exchanged the crumbs for one of those with no problems.

excellent! i wonder if there was just one large defective batch and you all got jars from it.
