Yes, woohoo, thank you! I had no idea how much I enjoyed scanning the "Latest chowhound posts"

Can you be more specific about what you're seeing? If it's the same problem Gio's linked to that's okay, but if it's something different, we're going to need more information to figure out the problem.

Hounds like to see the 50 posts on page 1 of 'Latest Chowhound Posts' turn over quickly. On some busy Thursdays it used to turn every 20 minutes. One could surf around and return to CH and see a whole new batch of material and maybe find one to contribute to. When page 1 has basically new largely esoteric threads that languish for hours, CH has lost its sex appeal. It may be a mechanism to prevent ultra-long threads, or to handle higher traffic flow as the site grows, but if this is the new business model it will fail.

I've seen threads with 0 behind them for days on end on the first page and the site isn't turning over, whatsoever.
Like Veggo states, if this is the new business model, it will fail.

No, as noted in the other thread, it was just an error, that Engineering expects to fix soon.

Thank you for the clarification. I knew changes were in progress; I wasn't sure which were deliberate and which were unintended.

Thanks J and to Engineering too!

The E-wizards have fixed things -thanks! They have unchained the hounds of war - the 50 posts on the Lastest Posts page is back to only 25 minutes of activity! Pretty good for a Monday.

                adding to Gio's info remark
guessing it's an unintended consequence that coincidentally arrived on the heels of the
                "changes to old posts"

This new aberration has been going on since last Thursday...
